Sofia Esquivel Elizondo graduates with Ph.D. in Environmental Biotechnology, Fall 2017

Congratulations to Sofia Esquivel Elizondo who graduated from Dr. Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown’s lab with a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment.  Her thesis is titled Microbial Communities Involved in Carbon Monoxide and Syngas Conversion to Biofuels and Chemicals.  Sofia has been a Graduate Research Assistant for the Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology and the Center for Biomediated and Bioinspired Geoteechnics.  She has been nominated for the Dean’s dissertation award.  She is a CONACyT scholarship awardee, a GPSA grant reviewer, and has published 5+ papers during Ph.D. career.
