Swette Center students make educational videos that describe the importance of their research

3/31/2017

Lately, the members of our Center have been wondering how we can improve our abilities to share our work with non-science audiences and inspire them.  Dr. Andrew D. Maynard, Director of the Risk Innovation Lab and Professor in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University, recently provided a few of us that opportunity!  He led a workshop to guide researchers in communicating the importance of their research using sketch videos.  The purpose of the following videos is to convey a simple scientific message to the public, and this one is for elementary or junior high school students.

The following videos are products created by students in the Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology.

The Biodesign Institute will be sponsoring the same workshop for ten invited researchers to create similar videos, in May.
